Driving Safely


Local police are warning residents to buckle up and drive safely
due to the freezing fog and rain that is expected today.

McDonough County Sheriff Rick Van Brooker says the Sheriff's
Department responded to three accidents yesterday morning
on Highway 67 North of Macomb all due to black ice. Van Brooker
says people need to slow down and give themselves extra time to
get to work.

The Illinois State Police are warning of freezing fog in Henderson,
Hancock, McDonough, Warren and Fulton Counties today. Road are
extremely slick and hazardous.
The ISP remiinds residents to buckle up and drive carefully. For the

Local Vandalism


Some residents of Macomb woke up to a very unpleasant surprise
Monday morning.

Police say late Sunday night into early Monday morning, six sheds
or garages were vandalized with black spray paint.

Police responded to the first call around 9 Monday morning in the
500th block of South McArthur Street in Macomb. A seventh
incident was reported yesterday morning also in the 500th
block of South McArthur in which a van was spray painted, scratched,
and the tires were slashed.

All of the incidents occurred in the 400 and 500 blocks of South
Lafayette, South Randolph and South McArthur.

The incidents are under investigation. Crime Stoppers will
pay a cash reward up to one thousand dollars for information
leading to an arrest in this case. If you have any information
