NEW EXPANDED TAX BREAKS TO LOOK FOR

Tax season is upon us and there are many new and expanded
tax credits to reduce your tax bill or increase your refund.

IRS spokeswoman for Illinois Sue Hales says you don't want to miss
out on any tax breaks that may be available to you.

First time homebuyers could be eligible for a credit of 10% of the pur-
chase of their home up to $8,000. And long time homeowners
could be eligible for a credit of up to $6,500. If you made energy-
efficent improvements in 2009 to your home, you many be
eligible for up to $1,500. If you participated in the cash for clun-
kers program, the payment you received, is not taxable and is not
reported on your 2009 tax return as well as some unemployment
benefits. Also, if you purchased a new vehicle between February
and December last year, you may be able to claim a deduction for
the state and local sales tax.

CARTHAGE WELCOMES NEW PHYSICAN

Memorial Hospital in Carthage is welcoming a new physician.

Doctor Theron Jameson is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon and will
begin to see patients and perform surgical procedures at Memorial
Hospital on Friday's beginning today.

Dr. James performs over 1,000 surgeries a year including 250 total joint
replacements. He has been practicing since 1998 and he attended
Des Moines University where he received his medical degree.

Memorial Hospital CEO, Ada Bair says they are very pleased to be able
to bring the services of an orthopedic surgeon back to the community.
