SEVERE WEATHER TRAINING
Spring is right around the corner which means severe weather is on the way.
One way to prepare for severe spring weather is by training to become a storm spotter yourself. You can help your family and assist the community when inclement weather strikes.
A tornado and severe thunderstorm spotter training will be held in Macomb this evening. To become a storm spotter you must attend training at least every two years but you don't have to become a spotter in order to attend the free training. The course will prepare you to face severe weather at home or on the road.
This evening's session will be held at 6 at the Macomb American Legion Post on West Washington Street. Warning coordination meteorologists from the National Weather Service Office in Davenport will be conducting the free two hour session.
The training is sponsored by the McDonough County Emergency Services and Disaster Agency.
